... Read moreYou know how finding a workout routine that actually sticks can feel like a marathon itself? That was totally me! But after trying various approaches, I finally settled into a weekly gym routine that keeps me motivated, feeling strong, and seeing real progress. It's designed to be comprehensive, hitting different muscle groups throughout the week, and best of all, it includes plenty of low-impact options for those days when my joints need a little extra love.
My week kicks off strong with Monday’s Cardio + Core, featuring invigorating treadmill intervals with varying inclines and speeds to get my heart pumping. Then, I dive into a core circuit with Bicycle, In & Outs, Scissors, Single Crunches, and Russian Twists – these are my secret weapons for working towards a tighter waist and strengthening my midsection. Tuesday is all about my Low Impact Leg Day. After some gentle treadmill intervals (walk, jog, sprint), I focus on exercises like Deficit Conventional squats, Deficit Lunges, Goblet squats, and Half Sumo squats. These moves are fantastic for building leg strength and shaping without putting undue stress on my knees or hips, making it a perfect low-impact leg workout at home or the gym.
The week continues with a Thursday Upperbody session, where I tackle Modified push ups, Tricep extensions, Frontal Laterals, Shoulder press, Lateral Rises, and Upright Rows – great for building arm and shoulder definition. Friday brings a fun Full body workout using a medicine ball, including dynamic moves like Burpee squats to Ball slams, Reverse lunges, Overhead ball toss, and Jumping Jax's. And for a power-packed finish, Saturday is my HIIT Workout day, with intense intervals like Side to Side Jumps, High knees to half burpee, and Jump twist to Sumo Squat after a good treadmill warm-up. Even my Wednesday "rest" day keeps me moving with a refreshing 3-mile walk, ensuring I stay active and recover.
What I truly appreciate about this gym routine is how it acts as a clear gym day list, removing any guesswork about what to do next. It feels like a complete fitness journey. If you’re looking for ways to adapt this, especially for a quick 15-minute workout or a low-impact home workout for beginners, it’s totally doable! You can shorten the treadmill intervals, choose 3-4 core or leg exercises and do fewer sets, or even swap gym equipment for bodyweight alternatives. For example, modified push-ups and bodyweight squats are excellent low-impact options you can do anywhere. Remember, this is just what I do, and you can totally modify the weight and exercises to your liking to fit your own goals and schedule. Happy sweating!
