Perfect Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

This buttermilk biscuit recipe is absolutely amazing and came out delicious! I had to share not only to keep in my recipe catalog but for those who would like to give these a try!

This recipe is less about the ingredients and more about the science behind making them!

Here is the recipe but follow the next steps carefully and you will the most beautiful golden soft buttery biscuits!

2 cups of self rising flour or all purpose

1/2 TSP salt

1/2 TSP baking powder

1/2 TSP baking soda

1 1/4 buttermilk

1 TBS sugar

1 frozen stick of butter

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees

Sift two cups of flour and mix all of the dry ingredients and sit in freezer, very important these ingredients are cold! Next you will grate your frozen butter and mix in with cold dry ingredients. It should look very crumbly.

Next make a well in the middle of your dry ingredients and pour in the butter milk and stir until there is a dough like consistency. Do not roll out with a rolling pin. You will flatten out to a 1.5 rectangle with your hands then using a biscuit cutter or glass cut out the biscuits. Do not twist, pull straight up once cut!

Bake on 425 for 12-13 minutes. Brush butter on the biscuits before and after baking! Serve with Jelly, syrup or eat plain 😋🤤#homemadebiscuits #makingbiscuits #baking and cooking #biscuits
