How to remain fly in your Fourties’

I want to talk about redefining youth in your 40s. Youth isn’t about a number, it’s about your energy, perspective, and willingness to stay open to new things.

For me, finding peace, confidence, and clarity came when I stopped chasing society’s version of success and started asking myself what really makes me happy. I used to think becoming a millionaire was the goal. But why? To show off? To prove I could help people? Once I really explored that, I realized what I was actually searching for, and it wasn’t just money, it was meaning.

Life teaches you a lot. I’m on my second marriage, and the statistics on those aren’t great. But in my 30s I learned how to communicate, how to be emotionally intelligent, and how to love myself first. That prepared me for a relationship where both of us are equally invested in growth, healthy communication, and real love.

Another piece of youth is investing in your body. Not just in surgeries or quick fixes (nothing wrong with them if that’s your choice), but in truly understanding what your body needs. I got my hormones tested, faced some shifts head on, and started making adjustments to build strength and endurance for everyday life. That’s what self-care is to me. It’s not just candles and spa days, it’s listening to your body, making your health a priority, and not piling on stress that doesn’t serve you.

Style and expression also keep me youthful. Growing up in the Nickelodeon era, Doug, Rugrats, All That, those memories still inspire me. When I see them pop up on TikTok, I feel that joy all over again. Sometimes my style reflects that nostalgia, reminding me of a time when life was simple, playful, and creative.

Being in my 40s feels like freedom. I’ve accomplished so much, and I’m still growing. I’m learning, embracing, and becoming. Confidence in this season of life is about being unbothered, grateful, and no longer influenced by things that don’t align.

I just turned 40 in June, and honestly, it feels amazing. Youthfulness isn’t about turning back the clock, it’s about how you feel, how you move, and how open you are to life. Embrace it. Celebrate it. And never be ashamed of the growth that brought you here.
