Weight Gain in the 30’s
Been skinny my whole life after 30 here comes the weight gain lol …I ain’t sad about it #thickfitjourney #bootygain#bodytransformation #over30
I've heard so many people talk about how their bodies change after 30, and wow, it really happened to me! For years, I was that person who could eat anything and never gain a pound. But then, as the OCR on my image says, I "Gained weight after 30, and now my body's doing its own thing....Anyone else?" If you're nodding along, you're definitely not alone! Initially, it was a bit of a shock. My clothes fit differently, and I caught glimpses of a new silhouette in the mirror. There’s so much pressure in society to maintain a certain look, especially as we age, that my first instinct wasn't exactly positive. But after a little reflection, I realized something important: this change wasn't necessarily bad. In fact, for me, it's been an incredible journey of self-acceptance and a deeper understanding of my body. Embracing weight gain, especially when it feels like your "body's doing its own thing," isn't always easy, but it is incredibly liberating. It meant letting go of old expectations and learning to appreciate my body for its strength and what it allows me to do, rather than just how it looks. This isn't about giving up on health; it's about redefining what health looks like for *me*. Here's how I've been navigating this beautiful body transformation: Shifting My Mindset: Instead of focusing on the number on the scale, I started focusing on how I feel. Am I energetic? Am I strong? Am I nourishing my body with good food? This mental shift was monumental. It helped me appreciate the curves and the strength I was gaining. Mindful Movement: My workouts changed from trying to burn calories to finding activities I genuinely enjoy. Whether it’s dancing, lifting weights for my #bootygain, or long walks, the goal is joy and well-being, not just weight loss. Dressing for My New Body: I stopped trying to squeeze into old clothes that no longer fit and started investing in pieces that flatter my current shape. Feeling good in what I wear instantly boosts my confidence and helps me embrace this new me. Connecting with Others: Realizing that so many women experience similar changes #over30 has been incredibly comforting. Sharing experiences and tips with friends or online communities has created a wonderful support system. It makes you feel seen and understood. Positive Self-Talk: This one is crucial. I actively challenge negative thoughts about my body and replace them with affirmations. It’s a constant practice, but it's making a huge difference in how I perceive myself. This #thickfitjourney has shown me that our bodies are constantly evolving, and that's a beautiful thing. It's okay for your body to change, and it's even better to embrace those changes with love and kindness. If you're also experiencing your body "doing its own thing" after 30, know that you're not alone, and there's so much beauty in this new chapter.
