While you may regularly clean the lint screen, this housing often traps moisture and lint that you can't see easily. Another common spot is the dryer's vent hose, which can become clogged with lint, restricting airflow and causing dampness inside the dryer. Moisture can also accumulate around the drum seals if the dryer is not properly ventilated. The good news is that you can fix these odors quickly, often in just about 10 minutes and without any special tools. Start by removing and thoroughly cleaning the lint trap housing with a vacuum or cloth. Next, gently wipe around the drum seals and inspect the vent hose for blockages.
