Scripture/Prayer

When Jesus came to earth, He took our burdens onto Himself. Even though we were far from God, Jesus carried the punishment for our wrongdoing and bore our suffering. And because of that, we have a Savior who understands and has compassion on us.

This Savior meets us in our mess, and invites us to find rest in Him. This Savior is God with us.

King David wrote that Psalm hundreds of years before Jesus’ arrival. Even then, God was illustrating to people that His character was constant, and He was trustworthy.

God watched over Noah when the earth was flooded (Genesis 8:1), and He made a covenant with Abraham to bless, protect, and multiply his descendants (Genesis 17:4-7). He took care of the Israelites when they wandered through the wilderness (Deuteronomy 2:7), and He comforted David when people were trying to kill him.

God has never stopped being true to who He is. He is our ever-present help in time of need. He is our constant source of strength. He is our comforter and our provider. The God that David praises in Psalm 68 is our God. He is the One who continually takes care of us, stooping down to meet us in our mess and carry us out of brokenness.

He daily bears our burdens.

Will we still endure hard times? Yes. But we will never have to go through them alone. The Savior of the world is near. God is with us.

Be Blessed 🙏🏾

... Read moreI know that feeling of deep exhaustion, where every step feels heavy, and your spirit feels drained. It's in those moments that the promise, "He gives power to the weary and increases the strength of the weak" (Isaiah 40:29), becomes a true lifeline. The original article beautifully reminds us that Jesus took our burdens, and God is our constant comforter. But when you're in the thick of it, feeling utterly spent, how do you truly access that strength? How do you let Him 'daily loadeth us with benefits' as Psalm 68:19 KJV so powerfully states? For me, it often starts with a very honest prayer – not fancy words, but just raw, heartfelt cries from the depths of my being. Admitting I can't do it alone and asking Him to take the weight I've been trying so hard to carry. It’s a quiet surrender, a conscious moment where I hand over the burden that has been crushing me. Sometimes, it’s simply whispering, "Lord, I am weary. Help me." And in that simple act, I feel a shift, a tiny flicker of hope. Just like the prayer mentioned in the article's image, acknowledging God's role in carrying our burdens is the first step. Then, turning to scripture helps immensely. Reading verses that speak specifically of His strength, presence, and unwavering love helps reorient my perspective. It's more than just words; it's a profound reminder of His steadfast character, that He is trustworthy, as the article mentions, and that He never changes. Finding passages about His provision, His perfect peace, and His endless compassion can genuinely shift the emotional landscape of my heart. The promise of "Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation" from Psalm 68:19 KJV is a constant source of encouragement, helping me remember that His blessings are continuous, even when I don't feel them immediately. Learning to embrace rest, both physically and spiritually, is also crucial for me. Sometimes, "increasing strength" means giving myself permission to step back, even for a few minutes, from the constant striving and just be in His presence. It’s not about being passive, but actively trusting Him to work in my life even when I'm not pushing myself to the limit. This is where I truly feel Him "providing support" and reminding me that I am "never alone." It’s a deep comfort to know that I'm "never requiring one to bear hardships alone," as the prayer in the image so beautifully puts it. Even in moments of deep weariness, trying to focus on the "benefits" He daily loads us with can reignite a spark of hope. It might be a small kindness from a stranger, a moment of unexpected beauty in nature, a comforting song, or just the simple act of breathing. Recognizing these small blessings helps me see His constant hand at work, confirming that He truly is the "God of our salvation" who cares for every detail of my life. And finally, when I’m truly struggling, admitting my weakness to a trusted friend or mentor and allowing them to pray for me is another powerful way God increases my strength. We are not meant to walk this journey in isolation. So, if you're carrying a heavy load today, feeling that deep weariness in your soul, remember that the Savior of the world is near. He understands, has compassion, and is always ready to give power to the weary. Just as the prayer in the image concludes "In Jesus’ name, Amen," let that be your declaration. Lean into Him; He's waiting to offer you rest, daily support, and renewed strength.

Paul’s words sound a lot like Jesus’ words—to love your neighbor as yourself; to do to others what you’d like them to do to you. (See: Matthew 22:38-40) God’s ways might not always be easy, but they can always be trusted.  When we choose unforgiveness, hate and anxiety and bitterness will likely
