Scripture/Prayer
The name of the Lord is not just a tower, but a strong tower. Nothing can push Him over. Nothing can tear Him down. He can–and will–provide a strong, everlasting defense for us. His strength and defense are not found in just the utterance of his name as if it were something mystical, but rather in His name as a declaration of His character.
Think about the character of God for just a moment. Nothing we’re facing today will change His character tomorrow. Because of who He is today you can find a strong and safe refuge in Him. Go ahead, take a moment and declare who He is today to seek refuge. In the words of an author you can simply declare:
–Lord, You are a God of love—so I find refuge in your love.
–Lord, You are a God of mercy—so I find refuge in your mercy.
–Lord, You are a God of strength—so I find refuge in your strength.
–Lord, You are a God of righteousness—so I find refuge in your righteousness.
Know that because of who God is there is strength and safety. What will we face in the days ahead? I don’t know, and neither do you. But we can know this…who God is today is who He is tomorrow. Run to Him and find complete safety.
Be Blessed 🙏🏾
I remember feeling completely lost, like a tiny boat tossed in a stormy sea. Have you ever felt that way? It's in those moments that the cry, 'God, help me to be strong!' echoes loudest in our hearts. We yearn for a solid foundation, a place where we can truly feel safe and find unwavering strength. That's exactly what I discovered in the profound truth of Proverbs 18:10 KJV: 'The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.' This isn't just a beautiful verse; it's a lifeline. When I first read it, I pictured an ancient, unyielding fortress, towering above danger. And that's precisely what God is for us. He's not just *a* tower, but a strong tower – impregnable, unshakeable, and eternally reliable. The 'name of the LORD' isn't some mystical incantation; it's a declaration of His entire character, His very being. It encompasses His love, His mercy, His righteousness, and His infinite power. Running into His name means trusting in who He is, not just what He can do. It's about knowing that because He is good, He will always provide a safe refuge. So, how does this translate into real-life strength? For me, it means when I'm faced with challenges that feel too big, instead of crumbling, I consciously shift my focus. I declare, just like the prayer I often say, 'God, You alone are my source of strength.' It's recognizing that my own strength is finite, but His is boundless. This isn't about ignoring the problem, but about facing it with Him. When I feel weak, I remind myself of His unchanging character. He was strong yesterday, He is strong today, and He will be strong tomorrow. This realization fills me with a quiet resolve, a resilience that isn't my own. And oh, the gratitude! The phrase 'God, I am so grateful' takes on such a deeper meaning when you experience His strength firsthand. It's easy to be grateful when things are going well, but true gratitude, the kind that anchors your soul, comes from acknowledging His presence and provision even in the stormiest weather. Being grateful for His character – His love that never fails, His mercy that covers all my shortcomings, His wisdom that guides me – becomes a powerful act of faith. It reaffirms that He is indeed my source of strength, and with Him, I am safe. In a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming, finding that complete safety in Him is everything. To 'runneth into it' isn't just a physical act; it's a spiritual one. It's choosing to surrender my worries, my fears, and my weaknesses to Him. It's trusting that whatever comes my way, His strong tower will protect me. It's knowing that I don't have to carry the burden alone because His name, His character, is my ultimate defense. So, if you're searching for strength, for safety, for a refuge that will never fail, remember Proverbs 18:10. Run to Him, declare who He is, and find peace.
