What is God really like
A lot of people have opinions about God—but not all of them are accurate.
Some think He’s distant. Others think He’s overly soft. Some see Him as harsh, others as irrelevant.
But God isn’t a projection of people’s experiences—He’s consistent in His nature.
He is holy and loving. Just and merciful. Patient and purposeful.
And the truth is… you won’t fully understand who God is from secondhand opinions. You experience Him through relationship.
If you’ve been unsure about who God really is, don’t rely on assumptions—seek Him for yourself.
Because who He actually is… might change everything for you.

Understanding God beyond secondhand opinions can be a transformative experience. From my own journey, I've realized that many people misinterpret God's character based on their experiences or cultural depictions. What stands out is that God is holy—set apart and perfect—but this holiness doesn't mean He is distant or unreachable. Instead, He draws near especially to those who feel broken or lost. This closeness is deeply comforting. Moreover, God’s love is powerful but not always gentle in a way that ignores truth. True love, as I've come to see, includes correction and challenges us to grow. God's love calls us higher, urging us to reflect on ourselves and our life choices honestly. Patience is another attribute that surprised me. God waits and gives opportunities for change but doesn’t passively accept stagnation. This means He’s patient with our flaws but also persistent in leading us toward transformation. Justice and mercy coexist harmoniously in His nature. While God deals justly with wrongdoing, He is merciful, offering forgiveness and hope through grace. This balance is something I saw reflected in many personal struggles and victories. Lastly, God is profoundly personal. Rather than being a distant force, He is relational—knowing and seeing each individual, responding and guiding. My experience has shown that drawing near to Him brings a tangible sense of peace and direction. Seeking God personally rather than through hearsay opens up a deeply meaningful relationship that can indeed change everything.
