🕊️ Forgiveness Isn’t Always About Them
Sometimes the hardest part of forgiveness is waiting for the other person to deserve it.
Waiting for the apology.
Waiting for accountability.
Waiting for them to finally understand what they did.
But what if forgiveness is not primarily about them?
What if it is about finally deciding that the pain will not keep controlling your present?
📖 Ephesians 4:31–32
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger… be put away from you… forgiving one another…”
Forgiveness does not mean what happened was acceptable.
It does not automatically mean reconciliation.
It does not automatically mean trust is restored.
It does not mean everyone gets the same access to you again.
It means you are choosing to stop carrying the poison.
You cannot change what happened.
But you can decide how much of your future it gets to occupy.
Don’t let a ghost from your past keep haunting your present.
🙏 Father, help me release the anger, bitterness, and hurt I’ve been carrying. Give me the courage to forgive and the wisdom to maintain healthy boundaries. Heal my heart and help me keep moving forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
