This chronic stress impacts the nervous system, causing tension, disrupted sleep, and lowered immunity. When I started actively practicing forgiveness, not only did my emotional burden lighten, but I also noticed improvements in my overall well-being. The phrase "What You Release, Releases You" rings true. Letting go of anger and resentment helped me break free from emotional stagnation. Forgiveness doesn’t mean condoning the wrong behavior or forgetting what happened; rather, it’s about freeing yourself from the emotional chains that keep you tied to pain. The process is gradual and often involves revisiting feelings, which can resurface unexpectedly. I learned to approach these moments with compassion, recognizing them as part of healing. Tools such as journaling, mindfulness meditation, and seeking supportive conversations were instrumental in my forgiveness journey. Understanding that forgiveness is a process helped me be patient with myself and avoid feeling pressured to instantly "get over" painful experiences. If you’re struggling with forgiveness, remember that it benefits your health by reducing stress responses, lowering blood pressure, and enhancing emotional balance. Taking the time to forgive can ultimately lead to greater peace and physical wellness.
