Finally tried this viral pastry 👀

We finally tried Bao Pastry in SG after missing it every time we are in Guangzhou and Shenzhen — and I have to say, the quality here is honestly on par. Same standard, same vibes.

If you’ve tried it overseas before, you’ll know the bar is high. Luckily, the SG outlet did not disappoint.

Here’s what we ordered:

🥯 Xiao Bei (Seaweed) – $3.60 (2pcs)

Their signature for a reason. The floss is crispy, generous, and that sweet-savoury combo still hits. Texture is super satisfying.

🧀 Egg Tart Lava Cheese – $3.60

Crispy crust + soft, melty cheese centre. Rich but not too jelak.

🌽 Corn Custard Tart – $3.60

The corn flavour actually stands out (not just subtle hints). Creamy custard + flaky shell = solid choice.

🍮 Mochi Pudding – $3.60 (2pcs)

Thought it would be crispy, but it’s soft and smooth instead — almost tofu-like texture. Very comforting and not too sweet.

🥜 Taosu (Pistachio) – $6.90 (7pcs)

This surprised us the most. Super flaky and packed with pistachio flavour. Definitely our favourite cookie from the haul.

Also they rotate seasonal flavours quite often 👀 so it’s worth checking what’s new before you go. Some items might not be there forever.

If you’ve tried this before, what’s your go-to order?

Bao's Pastry

2/25 Edited to

... Read moreBao's Pastry not only brings authentic flavors reminiscent of Guangzhou and Shenzhen but also offers a cozy experience right here in Singapore. For those wondering about the best outlets, the Paya Lebar Square location is a convenient spot to satisfy your craving. One thing I really appreciated was their seasonal rotation of flavors — it keeps the menu exciting and tempts you to try something new each visit. The Taosu pistachio cookies were a standout for me, with a super flaky texture and rich nutty taste that’s hard to find elsewhere. If you’re new to Bao's Pastry, I’d recommend starting with the Xiao Bei for a taste of their signature crispy seaweed pastry, followed by the comforting mochi pudding with its soft, tofu-like texture. The creaminess of the egg tart lava cheese and the distinct corn custard flavor also deserve a try—perfect balance between rich and sweet without being overwhelming. For those curious about price points, most items are reasonably priced around $3.60 to $6.90, making it a great spot for a casual dessert outing. Plus, the freshness is evident, as highlighted by reviews of the freshly baked goods that are always worth the visit. Exploring Bao's Pastry through personal visits definitely adds to the appreciation for this brand's dedication to quality and authentic flavors here in Singapore.
