Finally, a ramen spot that doesn’t charge GST! 🍜💸

We stumbled upon this cozy place where ramen starts at $9.90 NETT. No GST, no service charge—just pure vibes and good food. The interior is giving Japanese minimalist with cute Sakura touches 🌸, so it’s actually a really nice spot for a chill date or a catch-up with friends.

What we tried:

✨ Spicy Kurobuta Toroniku Ramen ($16.90): This was the star. The pork cheek (toroniku) is lightly charred and so tender it basically melts. 🫠

✨ Spicy Seafood Tonkotsu Ramen ($11.50): The broth isn't too heavy, and the noodles have that perfect slight bite. You won’t leave feeling like you need a 3-hour nap. ✌️

💡 Pro-Tip for the hungry:

Definitely do the $4.50 top-up. You get a side and a drink. We went for the Cheese Gyoza (the cheese pull is real 🧀) and the Salmon Tobiko Salad.

Drink Recs:

Their Milk Teas are actually legit. We tried the Purple Sweet Potato or Matcha — it’s a nice sweet ending to the meal! 🥤✨

... Read moreIf you're a ramen lover like me, finding a spot that serves authentic, flavorful ramen without the usual GST and service charge is a dream come true. At Ramen King in Tangs Plaza, I was delighted not only by the affordable pricing starting at $9.90 NETT but also by the quality and care put into each dish. The Spicy Kurobuta Toroniku Ramen truly stole the show with its melt-in-your-mouth tender pork cheek, lightly charred to perfection, adding a smoky depth to the flavorful broth. Meanwhile, the Spicy Seafood Tonkotsu offered a lighter yet rich experience, making it ideal for those who prefer a balanced bowl without feeling too heavy afterward. One tip I highly recommend is the $4.50 top-up which includes a side and drink. The cheese gyoza delivers an incredible cheese pull that adds a fun twist to the traditional dumpling, and the salmon tobiko salad offers a refreshing contrast with its crispness and slight oceanic tang. To round off the meal, their Purple Sweet Potato and Matcha milk teas provide a smooth, sweet finish, complementing the savory flavors perfectly. The ambiance at Ramen King is another highlight — the Japanese minimalist decor with charming Sakura touches creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, ideal for either casual dates or catching up with friends. Located conveniently at Basement 1 of Tangs Plaza on Orchard Road, it’s accessible for both locals and tourists seeking quality ramen without the extra cost. If you’re looking to enjoy a hearty meal that’s also wallet-friendly, this spot definitely deserves a visit. Just remember to come hungry and try the extras—they make the experience even better!
