Somewhere along the way, I lost pieces of myself trying to be enough for someone else. I became so focused on keeping them happy that I forgot what happiness felt like for me.
I silenced my voice.
I ignored my intuition.
I abandoned the woman God created me to be.
But healing has a beautiful way of leading you back home.
Today, I’m choosing myself—not out of selfishness, but out of self-respect. I’m rediscovering my joy, rebuilding my confidence, and learning to love the person I see in the mirror again.
The version of me that was buried beneath heartbreak, disappointment, and sacrifice is finally breathing again.
I didn’t just walk away from what hurt me…
I walked back to myself.
If you’ve ever lost yourself loving someone else, let this be your reminder:
You are worth finding again.
Your peace is worth protecting.
And the strongest love you’ll ever experience begins with the one you give yourself.
... Read moreHealing is a personal journey that often requires us to reconnect deeply with our inner selves and faith. From my experience, the path back to who you truly are can feel both challenging and liberating. When I went through a tough period of losing parts of myself while trying to please others, I realized that silence and ignoring my intuition only distanced me from my purpose. What helped me was embracing the truth that healing isn’t selfish; it is an act of self-respect and faith.
One powerful step is to breathe deeply and trust God's timing. In moments when life feels overwhelming, prayers and patiently waiting have been instrumental in renewing my mind and spirit. Verses like Romans 12:2, which calls for transformation through the renewing of the mind, became a beacon of hope. I learned to let go of the pain and the identity it tried to impose on me, choosing instead to become the wiser, stronger version of myself God always intended.
This transforming process includes recognizing the importance of protecting your peace. It requires setting boundaries and prioritizing your emotional wellbeing above the need to make others happy at your expense. I found that journaling my feelings and reflecting on biblical passages helped me maintain perspective and encouraged consistent growth.
Remember, no matter how lost you feel, reconnecting with God and yourself can lead to profound healing. The love you give yourself is the foundation for everything else. As Psalm 23:3 beautifully says, "He restores my soul." Leaning into this truth has been a cornerstone of my journey back to wholeness and joy.
If you’re on a similar path, know that you’re not alone and that every step you take toward healing honors the woman God created you to be. Keep choosing yourself, trusting in the process, and allowing faith to guide your transformation.
