these are all things i have found to work best for me along my weightloss journey and things i wish i learned earlier! however, not everything works for everyone, so take what applies and try something new😊

overall, i would say it is really important to focus on BALANCE. this is my key word and theme in everything i do. if you go too hard with your dieting, it will harm you more than help. if you go too hard in exercise, it will also harm you more than good. you should prioritize FEELING good and doing good things for your physical and mental health. that should always be your #1 .

it also seems a lot of you do not know much about intermittent fasting, and i have a post specifically regarding a lot of information about it! i highly recommend this as it really really helps you with finding a balance in your diet & refrain from light night snacking! it has helped me learn to control my cravings and listen to my body, instead of my mind. my favorite way to track it is through @Litely! It is free on the app store, provides so much information for beginners, and offers so many insights into your fasting, weightloss trends, etc 5/5 ⭐️ for sure

It wasn't just about burning calories; it was about building a habit and feeling more vibrant and capable. Pairing this with some pilates and stretching a few times a week, and even dedicated nightly stretching, kept my muscles flexible, improved my posture, and prevented injuries, making my cardio routine sustainable and enjoyable. This consistent exercise laid a strong foundation for the physical changes I saw. Beyond exercise, what I ate played a massive role. I learned to focus on big & healthy meals that truly nourished me and kept me feeling full. This meant consciously prioritizing protein, raw produce & healthy fats at every meal. Think lean chicken or fish with a huge salad packed with colorful veggies like spinach, bell peppers, and cucumber, all drizzled with a little olive oil. These meals kept me satisfied and energized, preventing those mid-afternoon slumps and late-night cravings. Another crucial step was to avoid liquid calories. Those sugary drinks, sodas, or even seemingly innocent fruit juices can add up so quickly without making you feel full or providing real nutritional value. Swapping them for water – I aimed for 64+ oz of water daily – was surprisingly effective for managing hunger, boosting my metabolism, and keeping me hydrated. Intermittent fasting truly was a game-changer for me, especially for hunger control and fat burn. It helped me become more attuned to my body's true hunger signals versus just emotional cravings. By having a defined eating window, I naturally reduced late-night snacking and felt more in control of my diet. It taught me discipline and helped my body utilize stored fat more efficiently for energy. Ultimately, it's not just about what you do, but how you feel. I realized that destress & selfcare were just as vital as diet and exercise for long-term results. Taking time to prioritize feeling good, whether that's going outside for a walk in nature, meditating, practicing mindfulness, or simply relaxing with a good book, makes the whole process enjoyable and sustainable. And yes, you absolutely can indulge at times! Learning to enjoy treats in moderation rather than completely restricting them prevented me from feeling deprived and ultimately led to a healthier, more balanced relationship with food. This holistic approach, combining consistent effort with self-compassion, is what truly led to my lasting results and the 'before and after' feeling I was striving for, not just a temporary fix.
