I haven’t been ready to talk about this, and to be honest I didn’t know if I would be…but I am now. A couple days before Kevin Gene turned 13 years old, he passed away. When Gracy was 4 years old she wanted a cat. We went to every rescue place around. We found beautiful cats but she chose the scrawniest, long legged, skinny orange and white cat named Ninja. She quickly changed his name to Kevin Gene and we loved him from that moment on. Kevin Gene was inconic. Everyone knew Kevin and loved him. He was so big. It’s so hard to look at this pictures is him in the end because he had lost so much weight, but in his prime he was nearly 30 pounds. Kevin loved and protected his people like he was a watch dog-even attacking a few that he though hurt his humans. 😳 I miss Kevin Gene. We all do. We still catch ourselves looking for him or thinking about feeding him. He was part of our family and his loss has just been devastating. We will always miss Kevin Gene and always love him. I’m just glad he isn’t sick anymore and he’s not in pain. Bon said it best when as we were holding Kev for the last time, “go find a sunny spot to lay in buddy and the next time you see us come running”. We love you Kevin Gene…always. 💙
