Eyes Opened Along the Way 🌿

Today is special. Not just because it is Testimony Tuesday, but because it is my husband’s 49th birthday. 🙏

And as I sat with that, I realized this is not just a celebration of another year.

It is a moment to reflect on every step God has walked with him.

In Luke 24:13–35, along the Road to Emmaus, the disciples were walking with Jesus and did not even realize it. It was not until later, after the conversation and after the breaking of bread, that their eyes were opened.

And that is how life can be.

There are seasons we walk through without fully understanding.

Moments that stretch us, shape us, and even break us a little.

But then comes a moment like this.

A birthday. A pause. A breath.

And suddenly you can look back and say,

“God, You were with me the whole time.”

Today, I celebrate a man who has walked through life with faith, even in moments he did not have full clarity. A man who has grown, been refined, and covered his family with love and prayer.

And now, like those disciples on the road, the evidence is clear.

God has been present in every step.

Declaration

This next year will not be walked blindly.

Your eyes are open. Your spirit is discerning.

And what God has started in you, He will continue to complete.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of life and for every step ordered by You.

Thank You for covering him, growing him, and walking beside him, even in the unseen moments.

As he enters this new year, sharpen his vision, strengthen his faith, and continue to lead him in purpose.

In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏

... Read moreReflecting on this beautiful testimony, I am reminded of how often we journey through life without fully realizing the spiritual companions walking beside us. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, many moments in life go unnoticed in their significance until we reach a pause that reveals deeper understanding. Birthdays and milestones serve as such pauses, offering us an opportunity to recount the unseen ways God has been active in our lives. From experience, I’ve found that faith truly grows stronger in the valleys and uncertain seasons rather than the moments of clarity. Life’s trials refine our character and build resilience, much like the husband celebrated in this testimony, who walked his path with trust even when the future was unclear. This resonates deeply with anyone navigating periods of doubt or hardship. The story in Luke 24:13–35 powerfully illustrates that recognition of God’s presence often comes after reflection, conversation, and communion—breaking bread together, sharing stories, and opening our eyes anew. Incorporating such spiritual practices into daily life can sharpen our vision and deepen our connection to God’s ongoing work within us. Personally, adopting a posture of gratitude during reflection helps me see how God has guided my steps, sometimes in ways I didn’t understand immediately. Prayer has been essential in this process, interceding for wisdom, strength, and clarity. It fosters a mindset that the journey is not walked blindly but with a discerning spirit aware of divine purpose. For anyone feeling unsure or lost, it’s encouraging to know that what God has started in your life, He will complete. Celebrating milestones reminds us to trust in the continual process of transformation and to lean into the hope that each day brings new revelations and growth opportunities. Life’s tests then become testimonies, just as this birthday celebration has beautifully illustrated.
