There's so much more to it, and I want to share what I've learned and experienced so far. One of the biggest 'aha!' moments for me was realizing the wide range of health benefits of a 36-hour fast. Beyond shedding some pounds, studies suggest this type of fasting can kickstart a process called autophagy, where your body cleans out old, damaged cells and regenerates new ones. Think of it as a deep cellular spring cleaning! This can lead to improved cellular health and even anti-aging effects. I've also noticed a real uplift in my energy levels once I get past the initial hunger pangs, and my mental clarity feels sharper. For anyone wondering about blood sugar regulation, fasting can also help improve insulin sensitivity, which is a huge plus for overall metabolic health. Many of you asked about the 36-hour fast timeline and what to expect. Generally, after your last meal, your body first uses up its stored glucose. By about 12-18 hours, you start entering a fat-burning state (ketosis), and that's when many of the deeper benefits like autophagy begin to ramp up.
