Often, people believe that relationships—whether romantic or platonic—require continuous effort and battles to maintain. However, as the saying goes, "Two things you don't fight for: true love and true friends." These relationships are characterized by an effortless understanding and mutual respect that naturally withstand the tests of time and circumstance. From my personal experience, I’ve found that when a connection is genuine, it flows without strain. For instance, I once distanced myself from a friend during a particularly stressful period in my life. Despite the silence, when we reconnected, the bond was instant and comfortable, proving that true friendships endure without forcing. Similarly, in matters of love, attempts to impose conditions or force affection often lead to dissatisfaction and heartbreak. True love, on the other hand, evolves organically, nourished by trust and acceptance rather than conflict and control. Recognizing this can be liberating. It encourages us to cherish relationships that feel natural and to respectfully let go when they don't. This perspective promotes healthier mental well-being and a more fulfilling social life. The wisdom to "read twice" this idea reminds us to prioritize authenticity and let nature take its course in relationships. Ultimately, the greatest gift is to have people in our lives who remain without contention, embodying true friendship and love that require no fight to thrive.
