I love spending a day around the Griffith Observatory because there’s so much more than just the amazing views. One of my favorite spots is Trails Cafe, which is perfect for grabbing coffee before or after a hike in the nearby trails. Their cozy atmosphere really complements the natural surroundings, making it a great place to relax and refuel. If you’re hungry, All Time is hands down the best restaurant close to the observatory for both brunch and dinner. I always recommend trying their breakfast burrito—it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had in Los Angeles. It’s a perfect spot to catch up with friends or unwind after exploring the area. For book lovers, Skylight Books is a must-visit. This independent bookstore has a wonderful selection and such a welcoming vibe; it’s a great place to spend some quiet time delving into new reads. Art and design enthusiasts will appreciate the Hollyhock House, just a short drive from the observatory. This Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece offers breathtaking architecture and views that truly connect you with LA’s cultural heritage. If you want to unwind with a drink or a light lunch, the Cara Hotel nearby is a fantastic choice. It also doubles as a peaceful spot if you need a change of scenery to get some work done. Don’t forget to wander around Los Feliz too—there are lots of charming shops and little hidden gems to discover, making your visit to the Griffith Observatory and its surroundings a full and memorable day. And if you visit at night, the observatory itself becomes a magical spot to end your day, with stunning views of the city lights.
