Loneliness may not be "your fault."
It's my fault that I don't have many friends.
Loneliness is a matter of character.
I used to think so.
But in my fifties, I changed my mind as I reflected on my life and learned about society and institutions.
Quit your job.
Change jobs repeatedly.
Income will decrease.
You cannot have a marriage or family.
These social and economic changes have a significant impact on our relationships with people.
In other words, loneliness is not just an individual issue.
I myself have 0 friends now.
However, through blogs and notes, I sometimes receive the words "I was saved by reading the article."
Connections with people may not be based on the number of people, but on being able to understand each other.
Instead of hiding loneliness as an embarrassment, face it as a challenge to think about in society as a whole.
I want Japan to become like that.
