... Read moreYou know that feeling when your makeup just hits right? That's exactly how I feel about soft glam, especially when it includes those irresistible glossy lips and a highlight that makes you glow from within! I've been perfecting my soft glam routine, and I'm so excited to share some of my favorite tips, especially for those of us with an oval face shape, and how to rock a subtle purple touch.
Let's talk about the foundation of soft glam: it's all about enhancing your natural features without looking overdone. Think seamless blends, a radiant complexion, and a focus on beautiful skin. For an oval face, I find that a soft contour right under the cheekbones and a touch of blush on the apples of my cheeks really brings out my bone structure without being too harsh. The key is to blend, blend, blend until it looks like your skin, just better!
Now, for the star of the show: glossy lips! I'm absolutely obsessed with a plump, juicy pout. My go-to method involves a nude or rosy lip liner to define the shape, slightly overlining if I want extra fullness. Then, I swipe on a hydrating, non-sticky lip gloss. I've found that glosses infused with hyaluronic acid or nourishing oils keep my lips looking luscious all day. If you saw the sunshine catching my lips in my picture, you know what I mean! The trick is to reapply throughout the day, especially after eating or drinking. My current favorite has a subtle shimmer that really makes them pop.
And what's soft glam without a gorgeous highlight? For my oval face, I focus on the high points: cheekbones, brow bone, the bridge of my nose, and a tiny dab on the Cupid's bow. I prefer a cream or liquid highlighter for a more natural, dewy finish that melts into the skin. It gives that 'lit from within' glow, rather than a frosty stripe. In natural light, like when I'm in my car, it just looks absolutely stunning and makes my skin look so healthy.
Lastly, adding a purple touch can elevate your soft glam from pretty to captivating. You don't need to go all out with a vibrant smoky eye. I love incorporating a soft lavender eyeliner on my lower lash line or a plum-toned eyeshadow blended subtly into the crease. It adds a hint of color that complements almost any eye color and looks incredibly chic. Even a purple mascara can give a fun, unexpected twist! This subtle pop of color paired with defined eyelashes (a few coats of mascara and maybe a half-strip of falsies for extra oomph!) really ties the whole look together. It’s all about those small details that make a big impact without sacrificing the 'soft' in soft glam.
