What does it mean to be pro-life?
Well, to answer this question, let’s first define “pro-life”. When I say pro-life, I mean opposing abortion and other procedures that cause the death of a human being. In this context, we will be focusing on abortion.
To be pro-life is to value all human life as equal in value and deserving of the same rights. Abortion deprives living human beings of their right to life.
To be pro-life is to accept the science and to acknowledge that from the moment of conception, the zygote is a living human being. Did you know that at the moment of fertilization, the zygote (fertilized egg) has a full, unique genome of human DNA? Did you know that at this moment, all characteristics for the scientific definition life are met? They are as follows:
•cellular organization
•response to stimuli
•reproduction
•growth & development
•respiration
•homeostasis
•energy processing

To be pro-life is to choose to respect the unborn as the living human beings they are and to make sacrifices in order to protect the most vulnerable among us.
To be pro-life is to recognize that the abortion industry is based on racism and classism, and it markets abortion to more vulnerable people to make a profit. Did you know that the founder of planned parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was mainly concerned about eugenics and reducing the black population? To be pro-life is to realize that abortion procedures are inhumane and cause vast amounts of suffering for both the mother and the unborn child. Assuming the child has formed their nervous system and can feel pain, there is no anesthesia administered before the child is either poisoned through injection to d*e slowly, or dismembered alive and vacuumed out.

I am not a novice when it comes to voicing my pro-life stance online, I know what kind of comments people may leave. Before you comment, consider this:
I know there are a lot of opinions surrounding this matter. It’s a very controversial and heated topic - I understand. We are passionate about what we believe, and I think that is a wonderful thing no matter what side you are on. Let’s be honest with ourselves and admit that the other side isn’t a “monster who wants to cause suffering”, we all have our reasons to believe what we believe. Me personally, I am pro-life, because I know that the preborn are living humans and I believe that they have the same rights as the rest of us. No, I don’t wish to cause harm to women, I don’t wish to make people’s lives difficult, I am not out here trying to oppress or bully. I simply want all human life to be respected equally. Instead of jumping to the comments to insult and berate, why not take just a moment to try to understand where I’m coming from? That I do indeed care for the mother as well as the child, that I want both to be able to thrive together, in a loving environment. If you don’t agree, alright. I don’t believe you are a monster, I know you have your reasons. Let’s treat each other civilly, like the human beings we are.
