Hey y’all 🍀 how often do you go on outdoor walks with your kiddos? How do they help you?

I live in Ohio and it’s coming up on the colder months. I usually end up missing the walks very much, especially as my child grows and is able to walk around with me more! I’m hoping that we can still go on frequent outdoor walks through the winter this time around.

Spending time outside overall is great for all aspects of our health and is a great bonding experience.

Short bursts are better than nothing; even 15-20 minutes can make a difference. We also make it an adventure: 'Let's find all the red leaves!' or 'Can we spot a bird's nest?' This keeps them engaged and makes the cold less noticeable. A warm drink in a thermos for after the walk is a lovely treat too! Ultimately, these "OUTDOOR WALKS" are more than just exercise; they're a holistic approach to mental and physical health for the whole family. They offer invaluable opportunities for connection, learning, and genuine stress relief. So, whether it's a brisk walk through autumn trees or a bundled-up winter wander, keep embracing those moments outside. You'll be amazed at how much lighter and more connected you feel.
