🇰🇷CHEESIEST PANCAKE & RARE GAMJATANG
Ever had Gamjatang? This Korean pork bone soup dish is a little harder to come by in Singapore, but to worry, as JOMARU brings it straight to the table! This restaurant has 220+ locations worldwide and now, they've just opened in Tanjong Pagar😙
We got the Hot Pot Combo ($108.80), including banchan, Gam Ja Tang, a Pork Bone dish, your choice of pancake and sorbet. The Gam Ja Tang is a savoury broth loaded with pork bone---takes a bit of effort to peel the meat off the bone, but it's tender enough that it isn't difficult. Add $12 for the Flying Fish Roe Fried Rice, cooked in your leftover soup! Spicy Braised Pork Bone with Beansprouts is similarly tender but with a starchy sauce.
The Potato Cheese Pancake is THE highlight, imagine rosti, but STUFFED with the stretchiest cheese🥰 INSANE. I'd come back just to have a whole portion of this to myself ngl.
We also got the Watermelon Sorbet, which was icy and slightly milky. This one's a bit of a workout ngl you gotta jab at the frozen watermelon on the sides like an excavator. I'd ask for this to be served a bit earlier so there's more time for it to soften!
Spend $200 or more to spin the wheel for sure-win prizes! Check out more info about this promo on their Instagram.

If you're a fan of Korean cuisine, trying Gamjatang at JOMARU is an absolute must when you're in Singapore, especially in the Tanjong Pagar area. From my own experience, the rich, hearty broth of Gamjatang is deeply satisfying, perfect for those cool days or when you're craving something comforting yet unique. The pork bones are indeed loaded with tender meat that requires a little patience but is incredibly rewarding when you get that perfect bite. What truly stole my heart was their Potato Cheese Pancake, which is unlike any pancake I've had before. It's basically a crispy rosti exterior with an overflowing, stretchy cheese filling that's a dream for cheese lovers. It’s not just cheesy—it’s INSANELY cheesy, offering a gooey, indulgent texture that keeps you coming back for more. Pairing this with the Hot Pot Combo, which includes a variety of banchan (side dishes), creates a balanced Korean meal that feels both authentic and thoughtfully curated. A quirky yet refreshing finish to the meal is the Watermelon Sorbet served inside a miniature watermelon. It’s icy and slightly milky, requiring a bit of effort to enjoy as the sorbet freezes firmly to the rind, but the taste is super refreshing and a creative twist on traditional sorbet. I'd recommend asking for it to be served earlier in your meal so it has a little time to soften. Another highlight is the Flying Fish Roe Fried Rice option, cooked in the leftover Gamjatang soup. This takes the experience to another level by letting you savor the intense flavors of the broth even after you've finished the main dish, turning your meal into a satisfying, flavor-packed feast. For those visiting JOMARU, spending over $200 grants access to a fun spin-the-wheel promotion where you can win sure-win prizes, adding an exciting bonus to your dining experience. Along with their sparkling drinks and inviting atmosphere, JOMARU in Tanjong Pagar truly offers a unique Korean culinary adventure that’s worth every bite.
