Easy Bread Recipe for Beginners 🍞

Making your own bread is the WAY to go. It is packed with nutrients & there’s no artificial ingredients when homemade. Check out my go to recipe below ⤵️

Ingredients 🥣

- 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter

- 2 cups of warmed buttermilk or water

- 4 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast

- 4 tablespoons of honey

- 7 cups of bread flour

- 2 teaspoons of salt

Directions 👩🏼‍🍳

- In a large bowl, sprinkle the yeast over 1/2 cup of warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes or until foamy. Add honey & salt to yeast mixture. Stir to combine.

- Pour the melted butter & buttermilk or water into the yeast mixture & stir well.

- In a stand mixer or hand mixer, set the speed to medium. Slowly add the flour 1 cup at a time.

- Once all the flour is mixed in & you have a dough ball, knead the dough on medium for 5-7 minutes. You can also transfer the dough ball to a lightly floured surface and knead it by hand. You are looking for a smooth dough.

- Divide the dough in half and shape each into a ball. Grease two separate bowls & place the dough balls into each bowl.

- Cover the bowls with a damp kitchen towel & allow them to rise for 1-2 hours or until they have doubled in size.

- Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 375°.

- Punch down each dough ball to release any air. Transfer each to a lightly floured surface and shape them into a loaf of bread.

- Transfer each shaped loaf into greased loaf pans. Cover them with the same kitchen towel & let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

- Once the second rise is complete, bake the loaves for 30-40 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

- Remove the bread from the oven & allow it to cool for a few minutes. Transfer the loaves out of their baking pans and onto a wire rack to finish cooling.

Enjoy! 🍞✨
