When correction comes from love
I had a moment where someone close to me had to hold me accountable, and I’m not gonna lie… it did not feel good at first. Not because they were wrong, but because deep down I knew they were telling the truth.
But the difference was, it came from love.
It wasn’t shame. It wasn’t judgment. It wasn’t them trying to make me feel small. It was one of those moments where someone reminds you, “You said you wanted better, so I’m not going to let you settle for less.”
And I’m thankful for that.
Accountability can feel uncomfortable because it interrupts the part of us that wants temporary comfort. But when it’s rooted in love, it becomes a safe place to return to God, return to your values, and return to the version of you that you’ve been praying to become. 🎀
