This book was very easy to read, while it did have very dark topics such as abuse and SA, it kept me captivated the entire time. River, the main protagonist is A broken girl, in an abusive(physical, mental and sexual) relationship. Until she meets Mato, her boyfriend’s adopted brother who’s sworn to save her even though she states she doesn’t need saving.
I don’t recommend this book to just anyone, the author put plenty of trigger warnings within the book, and I didn’t take it lightly. Everything you could imagine that could’ve happened to River, happened. The author did an amazing job at wrapping up the book, not rushing not dragging it out. The ending truly made the book worth while.

This is one of my favorites by her. The author has stated it’s not her favorite book she has written but that’s because it’s her trauma dump book. I listened to the book for this one and the narrator for Mako… love his voice!
