... Read moreStarting a running routine from scratch can be challenging, but embracing the 'slow running series' approach really helped me build endurance and enjoy the process. Instead of rushing into fast pace or long distances, I focused on consistent, slow runs that allowed my body to adapt gradually. This strategy minimized injuries and kept my motivation high. One thing I noticed is that using hashtags like #couchtomarathon and #beginner runner in running communities can provide a great support network. Sharing progress, struggles, and tips with others going through the same experience creates accountability and encouragement. My marathon training journey also taught me the importance of proper recovery and nutrition. Simple habits like staying hydrated, stretching after runs, and eating balanced meals made a big difference in how I felt day-to-day. For anyone looking to start running, I recommend starting slow, listening to your body, and enjoying the journey rather than just focusing on the finish line. The slow running series approach helped me appreciate each run and stay committed even when progress seemed small. Overall, transitioning from a sedentary lifestyle to running a marathon is absolutely achievable with patience, persistence, and the right mindset. I'm grateful for discovering this passion and look forward to continuing this running adventure.
