Witchcraft 101: Easy Practices for Baby Witches 🧺🕯️

If you’re in a point in your spiritual journey that you are figuring out who you are and what you should call yourself, you came to the right place.

Here is a list of names of new witches that are starting out into the craft:

• Baby Witch: A baby witch is someone who’s new to witchcraft or spiritual practices, often still exploring different paths like green witchcraft, divination, moon work, or ancestral magic.

They’re not inexperienced—they’re in the learning phase, soaking in information, experimenting with tools (like crystals, candles, herbs), and building their personal practice.

• Witchling: The term “witchling” is a soft, magical word often used to describe someone who is young in their spiritual or witchcraft journey—similar to “baby witch,” but with a more whimsical or gentle tone.

• New Broom: The phrase “new broom” is a charming way to refer to someone who’s new to the craft or spiritual path, especially in the witch community. It plays on the idea that witches use brooms (besoms) not just symbolically, but also spiritually—for cleansing, sweeping away energy, or marking sacred space.

A new broom is:

   •   A newcomer to witchcraft, spirituality, or pagan paths.

   •   Curious, open, and full of potential.

   •   Gently finding their rhythm, crafting their beliefs, and sweeping their way into community and practice.
