Magnesium Spray That Makes The Pain Go Away Part 2

Magnesium spray (usually magnesium chloride in water) is a topical way to absorb magnesium through the skin great if pills upset your stomach or you want faster, localized relief or if you had a really long day on your feet.

💧 What Is Magnesium Spray?

A liquid form of magnesium chloride sprayed onto the skin (often called magnesium oil, it’s not actually oil). Absorption happens transdermally.

   •   If it burns, stings, or itches a lot

   •   If you have very sensitive skin

   •   If applied right after shaving or exfoliating

✅ The ideal way how I do it:

1. Spray magnesium on feet, calves and

back of knees 5 sprays on each foot

2. Rub in gently until absorbed, cover feet

with socks

3. Wait 20–30 minutes (I use heating pad

wrapped around feet on low setting)

4. Wipe off with:

       •   a warm, damp washcloth or

       •   unscented baby wipe

5. Apply a light lotion or oil if you want

6. Socks on → bed 😴

*If afterwards you walk barefoot around, your feet will feel sticky, just giving a heads up. When applying, if you noticed that it’s burning too much, try less amount of sprays the following time and give it a couple of days before trying the next go around.

I usually spray it on my feet, calves, and behind my knees—five sprays per foot—and gently massage it in until absorbed. Covering my feet with socks afterward helps keep the magnesium in and allows my skin to absorb it better. Sometimes, I add a low-heat heating pad wrapped around my feet for twenty to thirty minutes to enhance absorption and soothe tired muscles. One key detail I learned is that a mild tingling sensation usually means my magnesium levels were low, so it's a good sign. However, if it burns or stings strongly, I reduce the amount of spray next time or avoid using it right after shaving or exfoliating to protect sensitive skin. A sticky feeling might remain on the skin after application, but wiping off excess with a warm, damp washcloth or unscented baby wipe solves that without diminishing the benefits. Adding a light lotion afterward also helps maintain skin hydration. Beyond muscle relief, magnesium spray has helped me feel calmer and improved my sleep quality by supporting my nervous system and promoting relaxation. Magnesium supports GABA neurotransmitter activity, which helps ease anxiety and tension—especially welcome on high-stress days. For anyone struggling with muscle cramps, soreness, or restlessness at night, this topical magnesium method is worth trying.
