The 4 things your inner child is still waiting to hear from you 👇

🩹 Healing means giving yourself the safety you deserved back then.

If you grew up constantly on high alert, walking on eggshells, or feeling unprotected, your inner child is still carrying those survival strategies today. As shown in image_2.png, your inner child is simply the part of you holding onto those early memories and emotions.

Reparenting isn’t about changing the past—it’s about becoming the protective, consistent, and loving parent you never had. 🪵✨

See “The Little Wrangler Infographic” for a full breakdown, but here are The 4 Pillars of Reparenting you can practice today:

1️⃣ Discipline (Structure): Setting kind, consistent boundaries for yourself and actually following through.

2️⃣ Regulation (Calm): Learning how to help your nervous system feel safe and steady when anxiety hits. 🐂

3️⃣ Soothing (Comfort): Offering yourself warmth, reassurance, and physical comfort instead of judgment. 🤍

4️⃣ Validation (Truth): Acknowledging your feelings. Your experiences and your pain were real.

🗣️ Talking to the "Little Wrangler" inside you:

When you feel overwhelmed, triggered, or deeply anxious, your inner child is likely feeling unsafe. Try using these simple scripts from image_2.png:

“I am here now.”

“You aren’t in trouble.”

“I can protect us.”

Remember: You are both the wrangler and the one being protected. Keep showing up for yourself. Healing is a daily practice, not a one-time fix. 🌅

... Read moreFrom my own journey of healing, I've found that consistently practicing the 4 pillars of reparenting can be challenging but deeply rewarding. The discipline pillar, which involves setting kind yet firm boundaries, taught me to respect my needs even when it felt uncomfortable. Using calm regulation techniques like deep breathing or grounding exercises helped me stabilize my nervous system during anxiety spikes, making me feel safer within myself. Offering soothing comfort is something I wasn't used to—replacing criticism with warmth took time, but now I can genuinely hold space for my vulnerable inner child. Most importantly, validating my feelings confirmed that my experiences and pain were real, which was incredibly freeing. Repeating affirmations like "I am here now," "You aren't in trouble," and "I can protect us" became daily mantras that helped shift my mindset. This process of reparenting isn't a quick fix but a continuous practice of compassion and patience towards oneself. Each day, I remind myself I'm both the wrangler guiding healing and the one being protected. If you're just starting, try small steps—perhaps focus on one pillar at a time—and engage in conversations about your challenges and progress, as sharing fosters connection and growth.
