I went on my first Vacation EVER

Since so many of you are asking about what to wear on a cruise, especially if it’s your first time like it was for me, I just had to share my packing tips for ladies! When I was planning my very first vacation ever on the Carnival Glory to Nassau and Bimini, I spent ages wondering what outfits would be perfect. Here’s what I learned and what I’d definitely recommend for your next sea adventure! Daytime Deck & Poolside Glam: For sunny days by the pool or enjoying the deck, comfort is key, but you still want to feel fabulous. I packed a few different swimsuits – mix-and-match bikinis and a flattering one-piece. Over those, flowy cover-ups, sundresses, and lightweight shorts with cute tank tops were my go-to. Think breathable fabrics that dry quickly. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat and stylish sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun – they also make for great photo ops with the vast blue ocean in the background! Shore Excursion Style for Nassau & Bimini: When we docked in Nassau and Bimini, I wanted outfits that were practical for exploring but still chic. Light, airy dresses or comfortable shorts and a T-shirt were perfect. The most crucial item? Comfortable walking shoes! We did a lot of walking, and trust me, happy feet make for a happier explorer. I also carried a small backpack for essentials like water, sunscreen, and my phone. Remember, the Caribbean sun is intense, so sun protection is non-negotiable. Evening Elegance & Dinner Attire: Evenings on the Carnival cruise were a mix of casual and a bit dressier. Most nights, smart casual was perfect – think nice blouses with skirts or trousers, or a pretty jumpsuit. For the optional 'Elegant Night' (which I loved experiencing on my first cruise!), I brought a cocktail dress. It was so fun to get a little glammed up! Guys usually wear slacks and collared shirts, so for ladies, anything from a sophisticated maxi dress to a smart pantsuit works. It's truly about what makes you feel good. Don't Forget These Essentials! Layering Pieces: The ship can sometimes be chilly indoors, so a light cardigan or wrap is a lifesaver. Comfortable Sandals: For casual evenings or just lounging. A Small Crossbody Bag: Perfect for keeping your room card, phone, and lip balm handy without lugging a big purse. Sunscreen & After-Sun Lotion: Absolutely vital! Medications: Any personal meds, plus motion sickness remedies just in case. My first cruise was an unforgettable experience, and feeling confident and comfortable in my outfits definitely added to the joy! Planning your wardrobe ahead of time takes away so much stress, leaving you free to enjoy every moment, from the delicious chocolate dessert (yes, I had many!) to raising your arms in excitement in front of that massive Carnival Glory ship.
