Kiss press on nails they are too flimsy you get what you pay for wanted to like them. Bartbox off Amazon is amazing for press on nails. Any lip oil from Dior or any brand I don’t love. Eyelash curler never found one I love honestly waste of money for me personally. Dry shampoo baptise used to love it and Amika but dried my scalp out so bad. Amika is definitely the best out of any dry shampoo though. If you get one get Amika. #beautybetrayallist #regret#fyplemon8@Lemon8 Beauty @Marshalls

... Read moreWe've all been there – that moment of excitement when you buy a new beauty product, only for it to fall flat. My 'beauty betrayal list' isn't just about calling out bad products; it's about sharing my honest experiences so you can make more informed choices!
Let's start with press-on nails. I was so drawn to cute designs, especially those festive gingerbread and polka dot ones you see, thinking they'd be a quick fix for a polished look. But honestly, many brands, like Kiss, left me feeling totally betrayed. They were just too flimsy, popping off after a few hours, or looking unnatural. It truly felt like I got what I paid for – a short-lived dream! If you're into press-ons, I highly recommend looking for brands known for their durability and strong adhesive. My current favorite, Bartbox, has been a game-changer for me, offering much better wear and quality. They feel more like salon nails and less like a temporary sticker.
Next up, lip oils. Oh, how I wanted to love them! With all the hype around brands like Dior, I expected a hydrating, glossy, comfortable experience. Instead, I often found them either too sticky, not hydrating enough, or they just disappeared from my lips almost instantly, leaving me wondering what the point was. It felt like a 'serum of betrayal' for my pout! Now, I look for lip oils with nourishing ingredients like jojoba or argan oil, and I prefer ones that offer a subtle tint that lasts. It's about finding that sweet spot between a gloss and a balm.
Then there's the eyelash curler. For years, I kept trying different ones, hoping to achieve that perfect, wide-eyed curl. But for my lashes, it always felt like a waste of money. They'd pinch, or the curl simply wouldn't hold, no matter how much I tried. I even tried those kits with a tweezer and curler duo, thinking maybe a matching set would work wonders. Nope! Sometimes, it's about realizing what works for your unique features. I've found that a really good volumizing and lengthening mascara, sometimes combined with a heated curler, gives me the lift I actually want without the frustration.
And finally, dry shampoo. I used to swear by Batiste, and even Amika's Pink Pineapple scent sounded like a dream! But over time, both left my scalp feeling incredibly dry and itchy, almost like it was protesting. While Amika is still superior in terms of absorbing oil for me, the scalp dryness was a major deal-breaker. This experience taught me to prioritize scalp health. Now, when I choose a dry shampoo, I look for formulas that are talc-free, invisible, and contain ingredients that are gentle on the scalp. Sometimes, switching to a powder-based dry shampoo or using it sparingly, only on the roots, can make a huge difference.
My advice? Don't be afraid to read reviews, but also trust your own experience. What works for one person might not work for another. It's all part of the journey to discovering your holy grail products!
