Update! I got my ring 💍
I’m sharing with y’all because my friends and family will not be as supportive but honestly some of y’all weren’t either but I can say I received more positivity then I would from people I know. My fiancé and I known each other on and off for 4 years and we just started dating seriously the past 6 months and he decided to propose me. He first proposed when we were in Toronto and I never gave him an answer because I was drinking and didn’t think he was serious 😭. He asked a second time and I said yes.. all in all I’m happy either way because it doesn’t take much to make me happy. It’s really the simplest things for me and as long as he treats me as the queen I am that’s all that matters 👑❤️
Engagement photoshoot soon to come 🥰

Okay, so now that I've shared my proposal story, let's talk about the star of the show: my ring! I'm absolutely head-over-heels for this oval-shaped diamond. It's set on a delicate pavé band, which adds just the right amount of sparkle without being too overwhelming. What I love most about the oval cut is how it elongates the finger – it's so flattering! When we were looking at styles, I knew I wanted something classic but with a modern twist, and this perfectly fits the bill. The pavé band, with its tiny diamonds, catches the light beautifully, making the whole ring just glow. Since I've been getting so many compliments and questions about my ring, especially about the pictures I've shared, I wanted to spill my secrets on how to capture your own beautiful engagement ring photos – especially on your hand! Trust me, it's all about a few key details to make that diamond truly pop. 1. Master the Lighting: This is non-negotiable. Natural light is your absolute best friend. Skip the harsh overhead lights or flash. Find a spot near a window, or better yet, head outside during the 'golden hour' (that magical time right after sunrise or before sunset). The soft, diffused light makes your diamond sparkle without creating harsh shadows. 2. Perfect Your Manicure: Before you even think about snapping that pic, make sure your nails are looking their best! A fresh manicure instantly elevates the look of your hand and highlights your ring. For my first photo, I went with classic white tips with a hint of silver glitter – it’s a subtle touch that really adds to the elegance. Even a simple buff and clear coat can make a huge difference. 3. Choose a Clean Background: A cluttered background distracts from your gorgeous ring. Think simple and intentional. I love using everyday objects that offer a nice texture without competing, like my laptop keyboard (it gave a cool, subtle tech vibe!), a cozy knitted blanket, a lush green plant, or even the soft focus of a charming outdoor setting. The goal is for the ring to be the undisputed focal point. 4. Experiment with Hand Poses: Your hand doesn’t have to be perfectly still or stiff. Try gently resting your hand, holding a coffee cup, or subtly caressing a flower. A slight bend in the fingers often looks more natural and graceful than a rigidly outstretched hand. Play around with showing off the side profile of the ring as well as the top-down view to highlight different aspects of its design. Don't be afraid to show your personality! 5. Focus on the Diamond: This might sound obvious, but ensure your camera is clearly focused on the diamond and the intricate details of the band. Many smartphones have a 'portrait mode' feature that can beautifully blur the background, making your ring stand out even more. Try different angles – sometimes a slightly elevated shot or a close-up from an unexpected side can reveal unique facets of your ring's beauty. 6. Keep it Sparkling Clean: For that ultimate 'wow' factor, make sure your ring is spotless! Fingerprints and lotions can dull its shine. A quick polish with a soft, lint-free cloth or a gentle scrub with mild soap and warm water can bring out its maximum sparkle right before you take your shot. You want that diamond to catch every bit of light! Taking these photos has been such a fun way to celebrate this new chapter, and I hope these tips help you capture your own magical ring moments. Every time I look down at my hand, I'm reminded of that special 'yes' and the incredible journey ahead. Can't wait for the engagement photoshoot!
