First time🫣 any tips are welcome. I didn’t do them tight enough. I naturally have wavy hair so idk what I’m supposed to in the back😆 I’m a side sleeper but surprisingly I was able to sleep pretty well. And next time I’ll make sure the camera is in focus🙄 #heatlesscurls

2/13 Edited to

... Read moreTrying out heatless curls for the first time can be a fun and rewarding experience, especially if you want to protect your hair from the damage caused by heat styling. As someone with naturally wavy hair, I found that managing the back of my head was a bit tricky because I wasn’t sure how tightly to wrap the hair or what technique worked best for my hair type. One useful tip is to start with slightly damp hair, as this helps the curls set better without making your hair too wet and uncomfortable. Wrapping the hair sections a bit tighter than you might think can result in more defined curls. Since wavy hair tends to hold curls differently than straight or curly hair, it might take a few tries to find the right balance. Sleeping with heatless curls is definitely doable, and being a side sleeper didn’t affect my ability to keep the curls intact overnight. To protect your curls while you sleep, try using a soft silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction. You can also loosely wrap your curls with a silk scarf or use a loose bun or pineapple technique to preserve the shape. From my experience, it’s important to be patient and allow your hair enough time to set. Also, don’t be discouraged if your first attempt isn’t perfect. Focus on experimenting with different techniques and adjusting how tightly you twist or roll your hair. Video tutorials and forums tagged with #heatlesscurls offer great additional tips and community support. Remember, achieving beautiful heatless curls is all about trial, error, and learning what works best for your unique hair texture. With some practice and care, you’ll be able to enjoy gorgeous, damage-free curls in no time.
