Is my mom desensitizing my emotions/feelings?

🌸This is my first time posting on this app but I dont know really who to ask as I don’t have anyone I can talk about this to and get this all off my chest but getting into topic…. Soo My mom is a very loving and caring person but sometimes when I say things like “my feet hurt (from being at work on my feet all day)” she is so fast to say things like “Well you gotta push through it because I do everyday and I have way more things wrong with me and your so young there shouldnt be anything wrong with you” and this goes for anything that i so call complain about. Its the same thing with mental health as well.. anytime i dont wanna get up right that minute because i wanna just lay abit more but i will get up she just tells me that she has been struggling with her mental health way longer then her and you just get over it over time and yet she gets to lay down as long as she wants even sleep all day in which leaves me take care of the house and stuff (when i didnt have a job this was mainly what happen) i just feel like i cant talk to her about anything because it feels like she just brushes it off or just tells me that im too young to be dealing with it

She knows what i have been through from a young age things like s@ ,g00med, and sh🌸 but thats something for another time if it comes to it but i just dont know if thats a normal reaction from a mom and im just being dramatic or sensitive or is she desensitizing me

(Sorry for any miss spellings and the semi long vent/rant) but any advice or thoughts on it are encouraged and appreciated 💕

💐💖Thank you my lovelies 💖💐

... Read moreFeeling invalidated by a parent can lead to complex emotional responses. Many young adults experience similar struggles when seeking empathy from caregivers who may unintentionally downplay their feelings. Emotional invalidation occurs when a person's feelings are dismissed or minimized, often leading to feelings of isolation and confusion. It's essential to understand that while your mom may have her struggles, her responses can affect your emotional health. This dynamic can lead to you feeling guilty for expressing discomfort or pain, as you may internalize the notion that your feelings are unjustified. To address this, open communication is crucial. Encourage dialogues where you can express how her responses affect you without placing blame. It's also helpful to seek support from friends, therapists, or communities that can provide validation. Remember, your feelings are valid, and seeking understanding is a vital step toward emotional well-being. Additionally, exploring resources on emotional validity and family dynamics might offer further insight into your experiences. Engaging with supportive materials can empower you to navigate familial relationships more effectively.

my best advice- trust your mind and what you think, but I personally feel as if she is desensitizising your experiences. everyone should be heard just as much as the other and you have a right to be this way. she went through these things to, but remember YOUR feelings should come first. ❤️

The first tip, "1. Pray for them," suggests praying for others to develop a relationship with God, repent, be blessed, forgive themselves, and for those who persecute you, referencing Matthew 5:44 and Romans 12:14.
The second tip, "2. Pray for your own mind," encourages praying for wisdom, protection from lies, peace, and turning to God during hurt, citing various biblical verses like James 1:5 and Philippians 4:6-7.

A book page highlights that emotions are effects, not causes. Emotional pain signals abuse, often self-inflicted through lies and self-judgment. The text emphasizes cleaning up these lies to address emotional reactions.
A book page highlights that humans are born with love but learn to repress it due to societal conditioning. This repression prevents expressing authentic selves and love, as our hearts are naturally made to produce abundant love.
A book page highlights that the "voice of knowledge" spreads lies about love causing vulnerability. True love makes one strong; heartbreak stems from believing lies. Authentic emotions, rooted in integrity, are reactions to perception.
