words genuinely don’t explain how happy i am for my mom rn.
she’s been through a lot and comes back stronger every time and sometimes i never understand how she does that. she took me in when i was 6 years old. she was 21, had an 8 year old at home already, and she became a foster parent. she took me in when i need a home the most and did everything possible to make sure i was safe and okay. she literally saved my life more than i can count rn.
she recently got engaged on the 26th, and im getting adopted in a few days. and im just so happy for her. she’s working on getting back to where she was before, im so proud of her.
she’s engaged to her best friend and im so happy for her.
she was married before, her late wife passed 6 months ago but they were over long before she died. my moms late wife cheated throughout their relationship and marriage.
my mom hasn’t been happy for a long time and struggled immensely with her mental health because of it. she still loved her wife regardless even tho she probably shouldn’t, but she never gave up on her marriage because that’s not who she is as a person. she chose her wife in the end regardless, even after she fell in love with her best friend.
but if she knew then what she knows now, she wouldn’t have went back after the separation.
my momma has been the happiest she’s been for a couple of months now, but she still struggles with the loss. it crushed her and she still struggles, but she’s still standing and making it day by day. she’s the strongest person i know and im proud of her for overcoming everything she’s been through and overcoming the things we’ve been through together.
i owe it all to her, she’s my best friend and my favorite person. ✨🎀🩷

It's important to acknowledge that emotional healing isn't linear; it takes time, patience, and support.

For many, finding love after loss can feel daunting, but it also opens doors to rediscovering joy and companionship.
Mental health plays a vital role in coping with trauma and change. Communities and loved ones who support healing and understanding make significant differences in overcoming struggles. Above all, this story is a beautiful reminder that family isn’t just about biology — it's about love, support, and shared journeys.
