Feeling out of control?
Sometimes it’s important for us to remember that just because we aren’t in control, it doesn’t mean that things are out of control. Just because we don’t understand something, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have meaning. When I’m feeling anxious about the unknowns of life, it’s helpful to remember that the one constant variable is a God that loves and cares for me.

Feeling out of control is a common experience, especially when life throws unexpected challenges our way. I have found that acknowledging these feelings without judgment can be the first step toward regaining calm. For me personally, when anxiety creeps in about uncertainties, turning to faith has been invaluable. It helps to remind myself that just because I don't see the full picture now doesn't mean there isn't a higher purpose or meaning behind what's happening. One practical approach I've adopted is to focus on the aspects I can control, such as my reactions and mindset, rather than stressing over the unknown. This mindset shift creates space for peace and hope. The belief that God is a constant presence—a protector who genuinely cares—gives a foundation to stand on when everything else feels shaky. Additionally, integrating daily practices like prayer, meditation, or reading uplifting scripture reinforces this trust and provides comfort. It’s about building a personal connection that supports resilience. I also found connecting with others facing similar feelings helpful. Sharing experiences and encouragement creates a community that uplifts and reassures us that we are not alone. In essence, feeling out of control doesn’t mean being abandoned. It can be an invitation to deepen faith, develop patience, and grow stronger emotionally. Trusting that there is meaning beyond immediate understanding, and leaning on a loving God, can transform anxiety into acceptance and hope.
