Thriller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re a fan of suspenseful thrillers that keep you guessing until the very last page, The Boyfriend is a must-read. Freida McFadden does a fantastic job of building tension and keeping you hooked—I literally couldn’t put it down until I found out who the killer was. Just when you think you have it figured out, she hits you with a double twist that leaves you shocked.
The storyline is gripping, with just enough twists to keep you second-guessing every character. Tom’s character stood out the most for me—deceitful yet charming, he really carried the story. On the other hand, Sydney’s obsession with finding love made her a bit frustrating at times, especially when she seemed out of touch with reality.
I also enjoyed the New York City setting, which added an extra layer of atmosphere to the story. While the book starts off a little slow, the payoff at the end is absolutely worth it.
If you love a good psychological thriller with unexpected turns and morally complex characters, I highly recommend The Boyfriend.
