what i homemade this week

this week’s lineup for my crew of 4!

☻ started the week out with some flour tortillas & the cutest, fluffiest turtle shaped conchas (almost too adorable to eat!)

☻ next i used some fresh figs from my grandma’s tree to make the chewiest, most nostalgic fig newtons

☻ for midweek i baked us some strawberry crinkle cookies using strawberry puree + freeze dried strawberries for extra flavor!

☻ we had the BEST chicken pot pie — i made the crust & the filling; the perfect combo of creamy filling + flakey crust

☻ then i had an awesome day making some blueberry pastries with my toddler & ended the day with a homemade mash & country fried steak dinner

☻ closed out the week by making some homemade marshmallow fluff (with my homemade corn syrup) for some copycat hostess swiss rolls!

overall, it was an awesome week. i can really see my baking skills improving and i’m super excited about it. you can find the recipes for almost all of these snacks/meals on my page!

While perhaps a bit more of a weekend project, the aroma of fresh donuts filling your kitchen is unbeatable. You can even experiment with different glazes and toppings to make them truly your own. For something quicker, my flour tortillas aren't just for dinner; they make amazing breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs and whatever fillings you have on hand.
