Recently, I’ve been inspired by a mix of savory and sweet dishes that keep my kitchen exciting. For breakfast, I love making a pan-fried potato bowl with crispy edges and a soft center, topped with fresh herbs and a runny egg. It’s filling and full of comforting flavors. One of my favorite sandwiches is the avocado turkey on homemade cheesy jalapeño bread, which combines creamy, spicy, and savory notes all in one bite. Baking bread from scratch is such a rewarding experience, especially when it pairs so well with the fillings. For lunch or dinner, chicken teriyaki prepared in a style reminiscent of food court favorites offers a perfect balance of sweet and savory with tender meat. I also recommend trying a sweet potato and beet salad with feta cheese for a refreshing yet hearty side dish. The colors and textures are fantastic, and the feta adds just the right salty kick. As a little fun twist, I once baked sugar cookies with inside jokes for a coworker’s farewell gift, adding a personal and heartfelt touch that went beyond just taste.
