Touchy subject……… #timeblindness #toxicfriends #runninglate #friendgroup
Timeblindness, a challenge often linked to conditions like ADHD, can make it difficult to accurately perceive and manage time, leading to frequent lateness and misunderstandings within friend groups. From my experience, acknowledging this issue openly with friends helps create empathy and patience on both sides. When dealing with toxic friends, it’s important to identify behaviors that drain your energy or disrupt your emotional wellbeing—setting healthy boundaries is key. Running late repeatedly can strain friendships, but sharing your struggles and using tools such as alarms, planners, or reminder apps can make a difference. Creating a balanced friend group means surrounding yourself with people who respect your challenges and support your growth. I found that regular communication and honest conversations about feelings and expectations help reduce tension. Also, recognizing the signs of toxic friendship early—such as manipulation, disrespect, or lack of support—can help you decide when it’s time to step back. Taking care of your mental health while nurturing friendships requires effort, but the fulfillment and connection you gain are worth it.
