My January recap!
My book goal for the year is 40 reads. And I’m happy to announce I am well on my way. My last month of deployment was fairly boring so I had more than enough time to immerse myself. But now being back home let’s hope I can keep my momentum going. Here are my reads recaps!
Crescent city - 5 ⭐️ it was definitely more than I expected. Took a min for me to get into it but once it took off! Loved every second
house of sky and breath- 3.5⭐️ a lot slower than the 1st but it was still fairly good, I found it hard to focus on but it did set up a lot of things for the last book. And that ending!!! Iykyk
House of flame and shadow 5⭐️ I loved how it was nonstop. The ending was quiet abrupt them. It makes me concerned for the next book. Because what possibly could they do?
Fahrenheit 451 - 3⭐️ hard to follow but good story definitely snooze fest at sometimes
A Fate inked in blood - 4⭐️ nonstop action loved every second. It was predictable but then again it wasn’t? The ending!! Can’t wait for the next one.
Binding 13 - 5⭐️ definitely didn’t think I would like it and it was absolutely amazing. It was so good I absolutely couldn’t start a new book without seeing what happened next at the end of this. Definitely a cliff hanger and so tragic at times.
Lights out ♾️⭐️ my first dark romance and I ate every goddamn page. I read this in tandem with the audio book and it was so good, the narrators were amazing. I loved every second of this it was funny and good.
Little stranger 5⭐️ loved it. And Malachi was breaking my goddamn heart.
Keeping 13- 4⭐️ it started to become repetitive towards the end. Still pretty tragic but yeah at one point I was just ready to be over it.

Hey fellow Lemon8 users! My January was definitely a whirlwind of literary adventures, and I just shared my full reading recap. But beyond just tallying up my reads, I wanted to chat a bit more about what makes a 'January summary' so fulfilling, especially when you're trying to hit those personal goals, just like my aim for 40 books this year! Setting a reading goal, whether it's 5 books or 50, can feel daunting, but it's incredibly rewarding. My secret? Don't be afraid to mix up your genres! This month, I jumped from the intricate, high-fantasy world of the Crescent City series – those books are just epic, right? – to a thought-provoking classic like Fahrenheit 451, and even dared to explore the thrilling depths of dark romance with titles like Lights Out and Little Stranger. Sometimes, a change of pace is exactly what you need to keep your momentum going and avoid a 'snooze fest' (as I sometimes felt!). Discovering unexpected gems, like Binding 13, really keeps the reading journey exciting. Don't forget that audiobooks can be your best friend too if you find yourself short on time, helping you squeeze in more reads wherever you go. But a January summary isn't just about books, is it? It's about reflecting on everything else you've accomplished or experienced. Maybe you tried a new recipe that became a staple, finally started that fitness routine, or organized that cluttered cupboard you've been putting off. Think of it like taking a quick snapshot of your month. What were your personal highlights? Did you discover a new favorite coffee shop? Learn a new skill online? Even small wins deserve a shout-out in your recap. For instance, my latest read, A Fate Inked in Blood, was a nonstop action ride, and sometimes your month feels just like that – full of small, exciting moments you don't want to forget! Creating a monthly recap, whether it’s focused on books, personal growth, or a mix of everything, is a fantastic way to stay motivated and appreciate your journey. It helps you track your progress towards bigger goals, appreciate the little things that make life enjoyable, and thoughtfully plan for the month ahead. It’s like having your own personal 'JANUARY RECAP' graphic to look back on, reminding you of how far you've come. Did you reach a personal milestone, however small? Or perhaps, like me, you found yourself completely immersed in a story, forgetting everything else around you? These moments are worth capturing! So, as we dive deeper into the year, I encourage you to take a moment for your own 'january summary.' What made your month special? What did you read, watch, or experience that truly stood out? Did you tackle any challenges or enjoy unexpected delights? Sharing these reflections, even just with yourself, can be incredibly empowering. I'd love to hear about your January adventures and any book recommendations you might have for me! Let's inspire each other to make every month memorable and full of discovery.
