Is it respectful?

I’m not Muslim, but I’ve always wanted to participate in Ramadan. I’m scared that it will come off as disrespectful, is it? I am well aware that Ramadan has already started, but I wanted to partake next year, if it is respectful of course. Let me know your thoughts!
