... Read moreHaving visited Guru Kitchen & Bar recently to try their new offerings, I can confidently say their menu refresh is a delight for both biryani enthusiasts and dessert lovers. The Lamb Chop Biryani stood out with tender, flavorful meat perfectly cooked amidst aromatic spices and fragrant basmati rice. I also tried the Laksa Shrimp Biryani, which beautifully balanced the rich laksa flavors with succulent shrimp, creating a unique twist on traditional biryani. To complete the meal, I indulged in the Chocolate Lava and Mango Kulfi from their dessert sampler. The Chocolate Lava cake had an irresistibly gooey center, just the right level of sweetness, while the Mango Kulfi was refreshingly creamy, making it a perfect cool-down treat after the spicy main courses. One big plus of dining here is the convenient free parking available at Edmonton Tower on non-event days, making it hassle-free to visit downtown. The ambiance felt cozy yet modern, ideal for casual dinners or catching up with friends. If you’re in Edmonton and looking for a place that combines authentic biryani with a playful dessert menu, Guru Kitchen & Bar is definitely worth a visit. The menu variety, especially the inclusion of options like Parda Chicken Biryani and Subz Biryani, allows for diverse tastes. Plus, the additional treats such as Grandma's Baked Gajar Halwa and Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream add wonderful South Asian dessert options rarely found in casual dining spots. Overall, this new menu at Guru offers a flavorful journey that truly levels up downtown dining. It's great to see such attention to quality and diversity in their offerings. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try the other biryanis and sip on their Guru Chai.
