The Forpus, also known as the Parrotlet, is the smallest parrot in the world, with an interesting history and characteristics:
History and Native
Native: The phopus bird is native to the South American continent, such as Peru, and Ecuador.
Species in nature: The most popular and colourfully developed species is the Pacific Parrotlet (Forpus coelestis) or Pacific parrot, which in nature is primarily green.
Breed Development: Today, there are many new colors (mutations), such as turquoise blue, yellow, pastel, dyluth, chinnamon and misty, to answer the needs of beautiful bird herders.
Physical characteristics
Size: Adults are only 12-14 centimeters (about 5 inches).
Weight: Has a very light body weight and a cute fort fat shape.
Gender differences: The sexes can be easily separated by the naked eye (except some colors may seem difficult, such as the dabbledark group), with males usually having dark blue tints on the edges of their wings, rump (ultralight), and behind their eyes; females do not have these colors.
Habits and behavior
The nickname "big parrot in a small body": even small, but like a big parrot, intelligent, learning quickly, training to tame or follow simple instructions.
Sound: Sounds quite softly compared to other parrot species, making them suitable for raising in condos or dormitories.
Ability: Some phopus birds (especially males) can mimic the sound of speaking short sentences or singing.
Emotional: It's a perverse bird. Addicted to its owner, but it's also highly self-centered and can behave ferociously or bite if it feels unsafe or endemic.
Parenting Information
Life expectancy: Average longevity of 15-20 years, if well cared for.
Diet: Eat whole grains, greens (e.g. basil, basil) and seasonal fruits.
Reproduction: Begins puberty at about 8-9 months of age (some may be earlier).
Temperature: Prefer the normal air of the tropical region. The optimum temperature is about 30-34 degrees Celsius. It should not be kept in a cold air room all the time.
