Safe to say he's havin a right good time with the Kin this week. 😆 🤣

I was asked recently, and earnestly, how I felt about J coming home in the wee hours of the night after enjoying an evening hosting.

And here was my very real, honest and tue blue answer - "Jan is my BEST friend. Outside of being my husband, being married, blah blah. He's my BEST friend. And as my best friend, I am LOVING watchin him have the time of his life. He doesn't need to check in, or text me all night. I want all the hilarious details the next day. And that's what I'd be like with Maggie or Jules or any of my girlfriends. And that's what I do with him."

And when he crawls into bed, exhausted, but full of laughter and smiles, knowing I'll be there to drag his sorry ass to Starbucks to get him caffeinated and ready to do it all again, I'm loving this for him. That's best friendship. ❤️

And to that end - J would unequivocally do the same for me. We push each other to be the best versions of ourselves and to want the other to have the most wild, exciting, awesome moments that lock in as core memories. Best friendship is the foundation of our marriage. We started out as best friends. And that's who we are now. 🫶

Besides - we had a rockin good time ourselves last night! My nephew, K, has been given the full gamut of a week with his Aunt. He's gone fishing, went swimming, had Marble Slab for the first time. Took his obligatory Kingston sign photo. Walked all over the harbourfront. He's had tacos, and McDonalds, and Wendy's and poptarts. And that's what a summer with Aunt Carrie is supposed to be like. He says he can't wait to come back. Kid C joined us yesterday, and our cousin Katie came along for the joyride. Now these babes are gonna sleep till noon. 😄

Today, I read: one day you'll see that the real luxuries in life are time, slow mornings, and the freedom to do what you want to do.
