This is controversial but…

Controversial but we say no to the overscheduled hustle.

🌊People ask me allll the time how my kids are so close. How they get along so well and how they are obsessed with spending time together. It’s because we say no a lot and I protect it fiercely. These are the relationships with them for life. Apple has her own room and sleeps in Ainsleigh’s room every single night because they are the best friends in the world 🥹👯‍♀️. They are all so so close.

✨We have four kids and if we didn’t say no a lot, we’d be spread out with a million sports and activities on weekends and week nights. I call myself the keeper of the calendar and protecting family time always wins. I KNOW there is value in team sports- so hear me say we DO pockets of that in various seasons. But there are pros and cons to everything and if everyone all did this multiple at a time on top of biblestudy and friend hangouts, we’d never see each other 😳

🌊 Yesterday we ate dinner outside and we had a slow evening of swimming and playing. And there was tons of capacity and time and room to do that.

✨ You can say no and make more room for this 🫶🏻. At our home, we prioritize sibling bonds and cherish every moment of quality family time. From meaningful conversations to shared adventures, to the slow evenings. We are committed to nurturing strong connections and fostering a sense of togetherness. If you feel overscheduled- consider embracing a slower approach where slow, laughter, and genuine connection take center stage.

Tell me below - do you feel pulled in a thousand directions??

#IntentionalMotherhood #FamilyFirst #SiblingBonds #QualityTime #BalancedLife

2025/4/24 Edited to

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, the pressure to be constantly engaged in activities can often overshadow the importance of quality family time. Many parents express feeling overwhelmed by their kids' schedules filled with sports and extracurricular activities, leading to a chaotic home life. Instead of diverting focus to every available option, consider the benefits of intentional parenting. By prioritizing meaningful experiences over sheer busyness, families can strengthen their connections through simple joys like shared meals, outdoor play, and heartfelt conversations. It's perfectly valid to limit activities to create space for those moments that build lasting relationships. Emphasizing time spent together not only nurtures sibling bonds but also promotes the well-being of each family member. Regularly engaging in slow evenings, such as dining alfresco or enjoying game nights, can rekindle that sense of togetherness and laughter that is often lost amidst the hustle. If you're feeling like you're being pulled in a thousand directions, try adopting this slower approach. Focus on relationships rather than activities, fostering a home where love and connection thrive. Remember, it’s about making memories, not just fulfilling schedules.

Controversial on my TikTok
I personally love Dona Maria but on my TikTok there were a few comments saying that they would only ever make mole or EAT mole if it was made the “old-fashioned way”? I obviously don’t agree with that because this is the way that my mom in law taught me how to make it and I have always loved eating
