My therapy
I’ve HAD A LOT of practice BEING PURPOSEFUL about MY HAPPINESS. I watch OLD MOVIES, laugh AT MYSELF, and act LIKE A GOOFBALL. Life doesn’t HAVE TO be serious ALL the time. DON’T LOSE yourself IN the NOISE ☯️💟♒️
In my personal journey toward happiness, I've found that being intentional about finding joy truly transforms everyday life. It's easy to get caught up in stress and forget that happiness is often a choice—one we can actively cultivate. For me, watching old movies is more than just entertainment; it’s a form of therapy that connects me to simpler times and lifts my mood instantly. Another thing that helps me is not taking myself too seriously. Laughing at myself and allowing space to be goofy breaks down negative self-judgment. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just endured. This attitude has taught me the importance of self-love and self-care—recognizing that caring for your own mental and emotional well-being isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Avoiding being overwhelmed by the constant noise around us, whether social media, news, or everyday pressures, has been key. I try to carve out moments for mindfulness and reflection, focusing on what brings me peace and happiness rather than what adds stress. If you’re looking to improve your own happiness, I suggest starting small: watch a favorite classic film, let yourself laugh without reservation, or do something purely for fun. These purposeful acts have a ripple effect on your overall mood and outlook. Remember, happiness isn’t a distant goal—it’s something you can build into your day, intentionally and consistently.
