Did you know baking is good for your mental health? You probably already did, but do you know why?

3. Dopamine & Accomplishment: completing a baking project triggers the brain’s reward system and dopamine is released.

4. Creativity & Trauma Processing: creative activities like baking activate the prefrontal cortex, which helps in problem solving and emotional regulation.

5. Social Connection: sharing baked goods fosters connection and community, which can release oxytocin and lower cortisol.

6. Comforting Repetition: repetitive movements in baking can promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.

7. Regaining Control: mental illness can often involve a loss of control. Baking provides a structured activity with semi-predictable results that can be empowering.
